REVENUE PAYMENT TO AJAX

April 17, 2026

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is pleased to make a fourth quarter (January 1 – March 31) payment totaling $652,158 to the Town of Ajax for hosting Casino Ajax.

During OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026), Ajax has received $3,722,509. Since the gaming site opened in February 2006, Ajax has received $114,714,799.

These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.

“OLG shares revenues with host gaming municipalities to help them invest in local priorities, including community services and infrastructure,” said Lorne Coe, Member of Provincial Parliament for Whitby. “These payments generated at Casino Ajax are part of our government’s commitment to support municipalities and to protect what matters most – those critical services families rely on.”

Since 1994, host communities have received almost $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.

OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits back into the province.

Over the past nine years, service providers have invested more than $2.9 billion in private sector capital investment across the province. These investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos, two large-scale resort developments and expansions, many gaming floor expansions and new non-gaming amenities.

OLG is a crown agency that contributes to a better Ontario by delivering great entertainment experiences for our customers. Acting in a socially responsible way, OLG conducts and manages land-based gaming facilities; the sale of province-wide lottery games; Internet gaming; and the delivery of bingo and other electronic gaming products at Charitable Gaming Centres. OLG is also helping support the horse racing industry in Ontario. OLG has been giving back to Ontario since 1975, generating approximately $64 billion for the people and the Province to support key government priorities like health care; the treatment and prevention of problem gambling; and support for amateur athletes. Each year profits from OLG’s operations also support host communities, Ontario First Nations, lottery retailers and local charities across the province.
