Combined provincial investments will improve community spaces and health infrastructure for residents in Whitby

WHITBY — The Ontario government is investing $217,099 to strengthen Community Care Durham through two provincial funding programs that will improve community spaces and support critical infrastructure upgrades, ensuring the organization can continue delivering essential services to residents across Whitby and Durham Region.
The funding includes $195,500 through the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s (OTF) Capital grant stream and $21,599 through the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund (CIRF), part of Ontario’s nearly $15 million investment supporting infrastructure improvements at community health service providers across the province.
“Community Care Durham has been a trusted partner for families and seniors across our community for many years,” said Lorne Coe, MPP for Whitby and Parliamentary Assistant to the Ministers of Children, Community and Social Services and Colleges, Universities, Research Excellence and Security. “These investments will help ensure the organization has safe, modern and accessible facilities so staff and volunteers can continue delivering the programs and services that so many residents rely on.”
The Ontario Trillium Foundation’s Capital grant stream helps non-profit organizations improve the spaces where they deliver programs and services through renovations, repairs, retrofits and equipment purchases. The Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund supports community health providers with critical infrastructure upgrades that preserve their facilities and strengthen their ability to deliver front-line care.
Together, these investments will help Community Care Durham maintain and improve its facilities, supporting the organization’s continued delivery of programs that promote independence, well-being and quality of life for residents throughout the community.
